NICOLAS POUSSIN

CATALOGUE RAISONNE DES DESSINS

This new catalogue raisonné is the first systematic presentation of Poussin's drawings to appear in more than a generation, superseding the 1939-1974 catalogue by Walter Friedlaender and Anthony Blunt both in greatly updated information and in critical reëxamination of attributions. It also presents the entire oeuvre for the first time in chronological sequence, which affords great advantages in the understanding of Poussin's development. It considers and illustrates all the known drawings, including many which have come to light in private collections, at auction and in the trade. It also includes and reproduces all the drawings rejected by the authors. The text is in French throughout.

This is the first in the series of catalogues raisonné by Pierre Rosenberg and Louis-Antoine Prat on great masters of French drawing. The second, Watteau, is also now available.

Nicolas Poussin, 1594-1665. Catalogue raisonné des dessins, by Pierre Rosenberg and Louis-Antoine Prat. 2 vols. 496, 528pp. More than 2500 illustrations, of which 150 in color. Lrg. 4to. Boards. Slipcase.

$350.00 Postage and handling additional.

ANTOINE WATTEAU

CATALOGUE RAISONNE DES DESSINS

This definitive new catalogue raisonné of the drawings of Antoine Watteau supersedes the 1957 catalogue by Karl Parker and Jacques Mathey, which is now long out of print and difficult to obtain. Like Rosenberg and Prat's acclaimed 1994 catalogue raisonné of the drawings of Nicolas Poussin, the Watteau is based on an exhaustive reëxamination of the artist's graphic oeuvre, and includes many new sheets unpublished in the 1957 corpus, as well as full consideration and illustration of all rejected drawings. The text is in French throughout.

This is the second in the series of catalogues raisonné by Pierre Rosenberg and Louis-Antoine Prat on great masters of French drawing. The first, Poussin, is still available.

Antoine Watteau, 1684-1721. Catalogue raisonné des dessins, by Pierre Rosenberg and Louis-Antoine Prat. 3 vols. xxxii, 1516pp. Circa 4000 illustrations, of which some 250 in color. Lrg. 4to. Boards. Slipcase.

$500.00. Postage and handling additional.
